Get Help Replacing Lost Food Benefits Due to Severe Weather

Governor Abbott has announced that people in counties affected by the recent severe weather can get help to replace lost food benefits. If you are an eligible Texan in one of the affected counties, you can apply for replacement Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for food lost or destroyed during the storms that began on May 16th. The deadline to apply is June 17, 2024.

How to replace lost SNAP benefits:
- Call 2-1-1 and select Option 2 to apply for replacement benefits.
- Fill out Form H1855 (Affidavit for Nonreceipt or Destroyed SNAP Benefits).
